Kevin Jones, PT, Diplomat MDT®, is an outcomes-accountable physical therapist; patient engagement, education, and empowerment specialist; and clinical pioneer in musculoskeletal condition management.
As a pioneering and outcomes-accountable clinician-entrepreneur with 25+ years of experience, Kevin has designed, developed, and directed world-class musculoskeletal health optimization programs for covered populations under both volume-based, fee-for-service (FFS) models of care and value-based healthcare (VBHC). He is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking innovations in diagnosing, triaging, and treating musculoskeletal conditions—and he has spearheaded onsite, remote, and hybrid prevention programs, conservative care programs, and condition management programs for self-insured employers (SIEs), Medicare Advantage programs (managed care plans), and centers of excellence (COEs). In all these programs, Kevin’s methods measurably improved the economic, clinical, and humanistic outcomes (ECHOs) of musculoskeletal (MSK) care through clinically based precertification, disease management, and concierge programs.
As President, Chief Clinical Officer, and Outcomes Program Director of Joint & Spine Solutions; Kevin introduced into the greater Naples area of Florida selected clinical breakthroughs, best practices, and benchmarks that he co-developed in support of Global 500 employers like Amazon, Walmart, and Michelin. He offers next-generation mobile concierge care—within both personalized medicine and population health management programs—for self-insured employers (SIEs) concerned with the clinical, financial, and administrative burden of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). In directing these programs, he applies the same knowledge and skills used to build the world’s most outcomes-accountable curricula, courses, and content on preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic musculoskeletal (MSK) care. His approaches complement clinical services offered by orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other licensed healthcare professionals—and reduce the total cost of care (TCOC).
As Vice President of Clinical Development for Integrated Musculoskeletal Care (IMC), Kevin led critical Center of Excellence (COE) efforts to improve personalized medicine and population health management programs for major self-insured employers, regional health plans, and human capital consulting firms. He assisted corporate leadership in designing, developing, and delivering online, in-person, and hybrid curricula, courses, and content on cutting-edge musculoskeletal (MSK) preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care. He also led onboarding, clinical development, and professional development programs for fully employed and affiliated primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, chiropractors, and other licensed healthcare professionals.
As Director of Physical Therapy for Carolina Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Specialists, Kevin transformed and enriched orthopedic access, health outcomes, and patient satisfaction by introducing best-in-class musculoskeletal diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative strategies to the Wilmington area of North Carolina. He developed innovative clinical models for musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), built the business case for those clinical models, and launched a groundbreaking MDT practice to improve orthopedic performance, outcomes, and impacts. He also introduced Robin McKenzie's Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT®) to academic medical centers, university athletic programs, and transdisciplinary clinical practices.
As Assistant Director of Rehabilitation Services for Southeastern Regional Medical Center—a unit of the University North Carolina (UNC), now known as UNC Health Southeastern—Kevin assessed, diagnosed, and treated musculoskeletal, neurological, and integumentary patients ranging from preschoolers to retirees. He maintained medical records, developed treatment plans, and performed follow-ups to optimize clinical results. He also collaborated with colleagues to secure a groundbreaking orthopedic contract with the Cape Fear Wildcats Arena 2 professional football team.
Kevin served for six years in nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) defense and mission-critical logistics on behalf of the United States Marine Corp Reserve—where he developed mastery in the design, development, and deployment of high-security and rapid-setup systems, process, and standards.
He completed his undergraduate studies in physical therapy at East Carolina University under the G.I. Bill and earned his diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT®) through the McKenzie Institute International® (MII®) in New Zealand.
